But first, I caught the last 10 or so minutes of Smallville... it's probably not the same guy, but the one kid looked a lot like the one who played Matt in Supernatural episode "Bugs." Just reminded me of him...
Anyway, if there was much of anything serious in this episode, it was balanced out by a LOT of light-hearted, funny stuff.
Gotta laugh when Dean is running away, terrified at the sight of a Yorkie. LOL.
Boys in suits! *g* Agents Tyler and Perry, after Aerosmith. Hee.
Was weird how the sheriff made them take their shoes off before entering his office, and then he kept slathering on the antibacterial hand lotion. At first I thought he was germ-phobic or something, but in the end I guess he wasn't. He was afflicted with that "ghost sickness."
The autopsy scene reminded me vaguely of the morgue scene in Bloodlust, when Sam was poking in the mouth of the decapitated vampire girl and felt like he was going to puke. Loved how both boys were getting grossed out but tried not to show it. Loved Dean's reaction when the coroner wanted him to hold the guy's heart. Sam is of course enjoying it, till he gets spurted with blood. Heh.
And so we see Dean getting more and more paranoid. I thought Jensen did a great job portraying that, and Jared did a great job being the straight man. And he was also a great Sam the Mother Hen (like when he told Dean to stop picking at the scratches on his arms, lol).
And yes, we did get Dean rocking out to Eye of the Tiger, and Sam's "WTF" look when he returns with the pie (?).
Dean screaming like a girl when the cat ran out of the locker! OMG!! As crummy as I felt, I couldn't stop laughing at that! And Sam's reaction when Dean says "that was really scary!" or whatever... total bitchface. Ha!!
Dean's hallucinations are getting crazy. Sam as a Demon, but telling Dean he isn't possessed, that this is what he is going to become and what he wants to become. Did his eyes go yellow there? *shudder* I think we saw some deep fear of Dean's revealed, that he's afraid of what Sam could actually become if he doesn't stop what he's doing.
And there was also Dean's rant about what they do as hunters being crazy. Wow, Jensen did a great job with that. And how about the part where he says that Sam is "gassy", that he has one burrito and it's toxic. Hmmm.... *snicker*
Bobby is made of awesome. He speaks Japanese and drives the Impala. *g*
Loved when Sam was on the phone with him and said Dean was "home sick" or something. Then it cuts to Dean watching Gumby. LOL.
The sheriff breaks in and attacks him, out of paranoia and possibly guilt as well for not doing anything about Frank dying. Dean tells him to calm down and the guy dies in front of him, his heart stopping.
Next up is Lilith. Creepy little Lilith. Here to torture him to death. Says that 4 months is like 40 years (or "doggie years") in Hell.
We see Sam as resourceful!Puppy, with his idea on how to get rid of the ghost once and for all (sad story behind that poor guy, too...). Luring the ghost out, and then of course getting attacked. I know the Limp!Sam fans on my flist had to be cheering. *g* And then Bobby dragging the ghost by the chain as he floors the gas on the Impala. Did I mention that Bobby is awesome?
They're just in the nick of time, and Dean recovers. I loved the scene at the end, just Sam, Dean and Bobby out by the car and having a few beers. Loved how Dean said he's up for a hunt now, wants to kill things, and Sam reacts with an "awww." Bobby apparently finds it endearing, too. Sam laughs. What a lovely laugh. *happy sigh*
And then we get a scene that is very reminiscent of the funeral pyre scene in ELAC, where Sam asked Dean if John had said anything to him before he died, and Dean flat out lied. Here Sam asks Dean what else he saw when he was hallucinating from the sickness. Dean simply answers "howler monkeys" (I think that's what it was). Of course he won't tell him what he'd hallucinated about Sam himself.
And now onto the "surprise." I'd seen the first 20 seconds or so of it online, but I loved the whole thing here. Jensen totally rocking out and lip-synching to Eye of the Tiger. Jared giggling in the background and then everyone cheering/clapping at the very end. I guess that was sorta like an outtake, but it was a nice little surprise.
Just a quick shallow note on this ep... dear SPN hairstylists, please stop plastering down and smoothing back Jared's hair. It looks so lovely when it's all flicky-outy and flying free. Thank you. *g*
Next week's looks cool. Halloween episode... can't wait for that. :D
Alrighty, that's about it. I'm really tired and still feeling pretty crappy. And I have to be up early to check out our field work site... bleah. Can't they just let me die? :P Hopefully I'll feel a little better tomorrow though... if not I'm calling the doctor. Night, everyone.
