I've got a splitting headache (*curses hormones*) so I don't know if this will make much sense, but I'll try...
Okay, not sure how many Stargate fans are reading this, but kinda obscure actor crossover alert: The big guy sitting in the back of the auction (who told Crowley he has no soul) was played by Gerard Plunkett, who appeared in a few season 1 eps of Stargate SG-1 (most notably the Land of Light guy and Nem, the alien creature who took Daniel hostage). Cool :)
The guy in the bank in the beginning (and then later with Thor's Hammer) made me think of Burgess Meredith in the Twilight Zone episode "Time Enough at Last."
Is it just me, or does the guy who plays an angel in the body of a kid working at Wiener Hut look familiar? He looks like the kid who played Matt in Bugs back in season 1. Think it could be the same actor?
Wow, Kevin's mom is a tough gal. And then she wanted to sell her soul to get Kevin back. And then got possessed by Crowley...
Cool reverse exorcism by Sam :) When was the last time we saw him do an exorcism?
So yeah, we see how Dean's time in Purgatory has changed him. The way he got really tough during those questionings, and then having that mirrored by flashbacks from Purgatory. Though it freaked me out a little at first when he was going to kill Kevin's mom as she was possessed by Crowley.
Now, before my DeanGirl friends get upset (and I'm not trying to make you, I swear), hear me out. Does it seem that Dean's behavior is a little reminiscent of Soulless!Sam's? And when I say that, I mean the way he was tough with the interrogations and what he said to Sam when he wanted to kill Kevin's mom - the whole thing about "whoever the meatsuit is" (not a direct quote, sorry). I know he said after that "And yeah I'd feel bad about it", which we know Soulless!Sam didn't ever seem to. Maybe you can't make a direct comparison between them, but it seemed a little reminiscent of it to me.
Before they were going to take her soul, they were asking the boys what it's like without a soul. Sam said something about wishing you were dead. Aw :(
Heh, look at Sam swinging Thor's Hammer!
What was Crowley's purpose in this episode? To stop them from getting their hands on that other Word of God? And to convince Kevin (and his mom) that the Winchesters are trouble? I guess it worked because Kevin's nearly traumatized by the sight of Dean wanting to kill his mom (even though she was possessed by Crowley) and I guess no longer trusts them, so the two of them bolted. I guess Crowley will have them in his sights now.
So we get some glimpses of Cas in Purgatory. So he did run away, but claims he did it to ward off anything that might come after Dean? And I guess we'll find out later what happened to him at the end of that last flashback.
Uh... so yeah, I'm still trying to process this one, lol. And the headache isn't helping matters. What sticks out for me the most right now is the promo for next week's ep. I won't say anything to spoil anyone who hasn't seen it, but I didn't like the sound of it, especially the very end. Really hope it doesn't come to pass.
