SPN #12x21 There's Something About Mary (episode review)
Wow, so much shit has gone down in this episode. And yet, I'm still a bit...underwhelmed? Maybe it's just fatigue on my part, IDK...maybe I'll change my mind with a rewatch?

Damn, I knew those SOBs would kill Eileen. Why does this show have to kill off all of (or most of, anyway) the likeable characters and leave the crappy (except for the boys of course and a few others) ones? Poor Sam, it was easy to see how much her death affected him. :(

And now it turns out Crowley has a history of sorts with the BMOL? Where did that come from? Is that how they got the hellhound to kill the hunters like Eileen?

Honestly I kind of got the idea that the BMOL would get Mary to turn on the boys or something comparatively drastic when Toni showed up at the end of last week's episode. Although now it appears that there's some rivalry between her and Ketch. He did leave her in the bunker with them in the end. I guess they're all going to have to work together to get out of this. I also wonder if she'll end up working with them against Ketch and the others...though not sure how that would go..after all she is the one responsible for brainwashing Mary (although it seems like Ketch had something to do with getting her to go along with that whole plan in the end).

As for Mary I wonder if she was not being totally truthful in the end when Ketch asked her how she was. It seemed like she wasn't totally sold on this.

So it appears that Crowley is now dead too. Due to some things I heard about Mark and some of his social media posts I guess I'm not too surprised. So now we have to contend with Lucifer and his spawn. Speaking if which, what was the whole point of that shot of him at the end up on the mountain top declaring "My son"?? Is he just reveling in his freedom and how all this will be his and his son's?

The look on the boys' faces when they saw their own mother betrayed them...ouch. :( I guess they will get out of this somehow. Just speculating about the finale, I wonder if Mary is going to end up choosing the boys and maybe sacrificing herself...and I suppose the birth of Lucifer's spawn is going to be the cliffhanger for next season, much like the "Cas is God" cliffhanger of season 6. I guess we'll see.

Lucifer turned Crowley into his puppet.... and the former King Of Hell. XD

Mary likely will sacrifice herself considering she tried killing herself while she was still imprisoned.

I totally forgot to mention that! But yep, the tables were really turned :)

I was thinking about that too, and I wouldn't be surprised if that happened.

Nah, I'm pretty sure that Crowley moved out of his meatsuit and into that rat.

Oh, good point. Upon rewatch I noticed they kind of lingered on that rat for a bit so, yeah, I think I could see him doing that. :)

That rat was following him around a bit so interesting theory!

Jess my dear I'm not even playing here but I'm so close to quitting this shitty show.

I watch for J2/Sam and Dean and so sick of ep's where there are only in about 10mins.

Fucking called it on Eileen too but Claire and Castiel are still around.

This season and show are a joke and I can't wait for the lame finale so I can take a break from this

Hon, believe me, I know how you feel.

I didn't get to mention this in my review but I was really disappointed by the lack of Sam and Dean in this episode. They cram so much into an episode and rely so heavily on the side characters. I don't know if this episode coincided with Jared's daughter being born so I could understand if their lack of screentime had to do with that, but it has been a pattern practically this whole season. *sigh*

At this point I'm watching mainly out of loyalty to J2 but my heart isn't in it like it used to be.
