I'll start with the episode.
I liked that it added more to the myth arc and that cliffhanger at the end was crazy (more on that later). But as I have said over and over ad nauseum, I really don't give a crap about the angel storyline, and I usually like Lucifer and with him now involved with them I have to endure their snore fest.
I know there was a lot of buzzing online about Danneel's appearance and I thought she did pretty well with what she was given. It seems as if her character will be back now that she's in league with Lucifer.
I liked Lucifer's snark when the boys showed up, saying he liked Dean's jacket and asking about Sam's hair care products, lol.
It was nice to see Donatello again although the Colonel Sanders demon seems to be influencing him now. And there's an added problem with Ketch, having to work with him and sorta trust him, even though he's working for Colonel Sanders.
There's an archangel blade now too? Was this ever mentioned before? And now we have the big reveal: Gabriel. That was RSJ at the end, wasn't it? I thought Lucifer killed him back in season 5. Should we assume he's from the other world or that Lucifer brought him back somehow? Kind of curious to see how he's going to fit into this.
That's about all I have for the actual episode. As for the show in general, I definitely don't have the same excitement I used to have for it. I've gotten into the habit of MSTing it more than watching it straight (for those wondering what the hell I'm talking about, it's talking back to the screen with wisecracks like they used to on the awesome show Mystery Science Theater 3000. I miss that show so much, I need to check out the new one on Netflix at some point).
I also have to wonder how many people here on LJ have stopped talking about it as well. I definitely know some of you have and I understand, but I used to comment on a community here about the show with links to my reviews and people just ignored them. It made me wonder if my reviews were too negative for them or if they've also become disenchanted with the show. Who knows, I guess. I won't even give it a second thought. It's a shame I've gotten to this point but I guess everyone suffers burnout at some point.
