SPN #13x23 Let the Good Times Roll (episode review)
Before I go into this review, I just have to say something: Why is it so hard for me to quit this show completely? I have watched it regularly since season 2 and obviously it has changed a lot. I sadly no longer enjoy it as much as I did back then. There are times where it insults my intelligence (in fact there were a few times in this episode where it did just that, but I will refrain from mentioning them because I'm obviously the only one who feels that way and I'm not looking to be doxxed). Yet I can't completely walk away. There were times that I threatened to do so and I sometimes wish I was strong enough, but here I am, still.

Anyway, I did see the spoiler pics from filming and the pic of Jensen dressed as he was, so it wasn't a total surprise to me that Dean would become Michael's vessel. I had to laugh though during his tangle with Lucifer where they were flying around in the air. They were practically floating at times and it looked kind of hokey to me.

But yes, it's the same old story, these boys making deals with monsters to save the world or the ones they love. They will never learn. In this case Dean did it to save Sam and Jack. Speaking of Jack I'm glad he finally saw what a monster Lucifer is. I was glad that his humanity won out and he refused to kill Sam. I felt so bad though when he attempted to kill himself. I thought for sure he'd be a goner once he started stabbing himself like that, but I guess he'd stopped just in time? I'm glad he's not dead but I guess he no longer has his powers. Did Lucifer take them all?

I wonder what's going to happen to all the "refugees" from the other world, including Bobby and Charlie. I suppose they'll probably go back to their own world pretty early on?

I suppose Michael!Dean is going to be the new big bad they'll deal with next season. Or perhaps would this be like the Demon Dean thing in season 10? Kind of hope it won't be an exact retread of that. I also wonder if there's going to be a time jump like there was in season 10. I would guess there wouldn't be a huge one. What do you all think?

I'm still digesting this one but I have to say that final scene of Michael!Dean with the glowing blue eyes and the sudden freeze frame ending on that also made me laugh. The way it was done, I guess it was hard for me to take too seriously.

Maybe that's why I can't completely walk away from this show - the fact that I'm unable to take it seriously anymore. If I was I'd probably be so disgusted that it would be much easier. And the fact that the eye candy remains ...

(Can't read this yet because I am SO behind on eps. Real life is kicking my behind.)

But I still appreciate your reviews! Once I am able to catch up on episodes, I will catch up here as well.

Was this the season finale? I am hiding from spoilers!

Re: mosinging1986
Hey! Thanks for letting me know! No problem, take your time. :)

Yup, this was the finale. I am curious to know what you thought of it (after you catch up, of course!). There was a bit at the beginning that sort of made me roll my eyes... maybe it didn't bug you as much as it did me and probably shouldn't have bugged me so much in my quest of trying not to take this show too seriously, lol

Finally caught up!

Yeah, I'm so tired of the make a deal, have it go wrong, our guys become the new Big Bad and/or look for next magic object to save them, lather, rinse, repeat.

But the relationships and the love are what keep me here. I always say, SPN is the most pro-family show ever done.
